Steele Solutions is a leading manufacturer of steel work platforms, material handling systems, safety structures, and custom-engineered solutions. We are seeking a detail-oriented and driven Estimator to join our team and support customers across a variety of industries.

This role combines estimating, design, and customer interaction to develop cost-effective solutions for unique customer projects. The ideal candidate enjoys problem-solving, working with technical drawings, and collaborating with sales, engineering, and project management teams to bring projects from concept to quotation.

Location: Tiffin, Ohio
Schedule: Office, Generally 4 9’s and a 4 on Friday
Travel: Limited, occasional customer site visits as needed

What You'll Do:

Review customer specifications, blueprints, drawings, and project requirements.
Develop accurate cost estimates and quotations for steel platforms, gravity chutes, safety lockers, and other custom solutions.
Determine material, labor, and manufacturing requirements for proposed projects.
Generate bills of materials and identify cost drivers that impact project pricing.
Collaborate with Sales, Engineering, Manufacturing, and Project Management teams throughout the project lifecycle.
Create customized solutions using standard SSI products and components.
Identify opportunities to improve processes, reduce costs, and increase efficiency.
Assist with product improvements and enhancements based on customer feedback and market needs.
Occasional travel to customer locations may be required.

What We're Looking For

Required Qualifications:

Experience reading and interpreting engineering drawings and blueprints.
Ability to read CAD software 2D and 3D models.
Strong analytical, mathematical, and problem-solving abilities.
Excellent communication and customer service skills.
Proficiency with Microsoft Office, including Excel, Outlook, Teams, and Word.
Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.

Preferred Qualifications:

Experience in estimating, manufacturing, engineering support, applications engineering, technical sales, or project engineering.
Experience working in steel fabrication, metals manufacturing, structural steel, material handling, or industrial equipment environments.
Experience developing bills of materials (BOMs) and manufacturing estimates.
Familiarity with distributor networks and B2B customer relationships.
Knowledge of material handling equipment and custom fabricated products.

Technical Skills:

Preferred experience with one or more of the following:

AutoCAD.
3D Modeling Software.
BOM Creation.
Cost Estimating.
Manufacturing Processes.
Engineering Documentation.
